Issue: Federal Per Diem Rates

Visit Jacksonville is organizing a letter writing campaign to appeal the 2010-2011 federal per diem rates for Jacksonville and Amelia Island, which will be $82 beginning Oct. 1, 2010. As one of the only areas in Florida without seasonal rates, we are asking for your action to help us in this quest to establish seasonality for the Duval and Nassau Counties (NOTE: St. Johns and Clay counties are not listed in this rate).

Know the issues facing our community.

Dear Valued Partner,

Increasingly, our industry is finding itself in an advocacy role when it comes to issues that matter to tourism.  Visit Jacksonville staff is on the forefront of the issues that can propel our industry and increase tourism product to attract leisure and business visitors.

But we cannot do it alone.  With nearly 43,000 employees in Duval County whose jobs depend on tourism, our Partners provide a powerful voice that will educate and engage our city leaders and local residents.

For this reason, we have developed this resource with the facts you need to know when advocating for tourism issues.  The site contains talking points, contact information, meeting information and other tools to educate and influence.

I want to thank you in advance for your dedication to making Jacksonville the premiere destination for visitors.  Together, we can make a difference in our community.

Best regards,
Mya Surrency
